About Tim Herschbach
Landscape photography isn’t just a picture — it’s a way of seeing.
I seek moments when light reveals something true about a place’s atmosphere. My work is not about documentation, but about personal perception and emotional resonance — the quiet dance of light and shadow, earth and sky, that creates a complete photographic thought.

Why This Work Matters
Each photograph represents a moment and feeling encountered in nature — a lived experience translated through intention and craft. I create photographs to evoke presence. A print is not just an image to hang — it is a resolved artistic vision, ready to become part of someone’s daily life and environment.
My work has found homes in private collections throughout the United States and beyond, and in each collection, it serves as both a reminder of a place and a celebration of quiet, deliberate seeing.
My Journey
I grew up in a small town in Oklahoma exploring woods, fields, and streams — an experience that taught me to observe and participate in nature rather than just photograph it. While I experimented with photography for many years, it wasn’t until 2009 that I fully realized the creative promise of the medium. Over time I traded hobby for devotion, learning through critique, workshops, and practical experience until photography became my vocation.
In 2013, I left my career in broadcast television to fully pursue landscape photography. Since then, more than a thousand of my photographs have joined private collections both here and overseas — each one chosen because it resonated personally with someone.
